About Diotima
Diotima is an editorial archive devoted to inquiry into life, consciousness, and imagination, developed by Future Humans, an initiative of the Berggruen Institute.
Edited by Claire Isabel Webb, Diotima brings together commissioned and curated works across science, philosophy, and art. The archive does not follow a publication schedule or thematic program; relations are constituted through encounter.
Claire Isabel Webb is a historian of science and Director of Future Humans at the Berggruen Institute. Her work examines how scientists have historically imagined, modeled, and anticipated nonhuman and extraterrestrial life, and how those practices shape possible encounters with novel forms of life and intelligence. She works across editorial platforms, research collaborations, and cultural production to connect philosophy, science, and contemporary culture.
